i will exalt You, Lord, my God
for You have rescued me
when my enemies cried triumph
it was You who set me free
though the grave had sealed around me
putrefaction had begun
it was You who broke the chains of death
and brought me to the Son
oh Lord, my God, i cried to You
and You restored my health
for help, for resurrection
Lord, You came with all Your wealth
sing to the Lord, you godly ones
sing glory to His name
for His anger lasts a moment
faithful love and hope remain
though weeping spans the length of life
His joy will be there, too
for He’ll never ever leave
each moment walk beside of you
when i was full of self, i said,
“nothing can stop me now”
but the end of prodigality
brought humbled me to bow
i’ve cried out to You, my Lord
i’ve begged for mercy and more grace
and You’ve met me each dark moment
as i lay upon my face
my hope is in Your Name alone
my dust will sing Your praise
for You have brought me through the storm
been faithful Friend through all my days
hear me, oh Lord, have mercy new
this morning as before
i praise Your Name and lift my voice
Your blood has opened heaven’s door
You turn my mourning into dance
exchange my weakness for Your strong
washed all the ash off of my face
and held my hand the whole day long
and i will sing, i won’t be silent
Lord, my God, i’ll use my pen
for You have healed my fatal wound
and given me true peace within
My dust will sing Your praise! Love that line.
I especially love the verse with title line in it. The weeping and the joy at the same time. Such a good reminder He’s always in it with us.
